Scintillating Solutions ...

"Learning to love yourself"

We all know that you cannot love others if you do not love yourself. This is a great weight to carry through life. I too did not love myself as a young lad. Butt then, through meditation and deep thinking, I discovered a terrific thing. This thing is so powerful that it can transform your life. You will no longer be the nice brister (brother/sister) who everyone likes because you always do everything for anyone just to be liked. You will become a loud, obnoxious, boor who every one hates - BUTT - you will love yourself.

"Impossible" you say! "Oh tell us the secret eb" you say. Okay - I will.

The secret to achieving "self love" is based on the same concepts that are at the very foundation of the Universal Church of Mellodic Jello. A concept so unique and powerful that it actually works, whether you contribute to the new roof or not.

As human beans, we are controlled by our sub-conscience. As we grow up and interface with the world around us, the sub-conscience develops a concept of who we are. This concept may or may not be true - that is not important. What is important is to understand how this concept is implemented and controls our lives.

Our reaction to life and those around us is determined by the "Screen of Logic". The sub-conscience screens all data through this filter to determine who we "think" we are. The key word here is think. If you cannot think - stop reading write now and go watch cartoons.

However, if you can think - even simple thoughts - then you could possibly attain the all-important level of "Deep Thought". Can you feel it yet? No - not that!!!!

Now, this is the really cool part.

We can fool our sub-conscience. AND - we can fool it over and over, and over. In fact, we can fool it into believing its logic filter is wrong and re-program who we think we are. This is very powerful stuff.

Let me use a para-bull to explain more fully.

Let us say that you don't like yourself. I myself have experienced this feeling - as amazing as that may seem. Can you turn the tables on the old sub-conscience and make yourself believe you actually like yourself ??? YES YOU CAN. Now, I know that a lot of you are not very likeable to start with, but even you can learn to love yourself.

The preliminary step - the foundation so to speak - is to stop negative thinking. If you have half a glass of beer and I ask how you are hanging ... do you say "My glass is half full" or "My glass is half empty". Or maybe you say "I don't have a glass - I have a plastic cup." The correct response of course, is "Do we have any more beer in the house?". This shows a positive attitude.

Okay, now you have banished negative thoughts from your life. The next step is to use positive affirmations. You can purchase them individually butt that can be quite expensive. Get them by the barrel and stretch your dollar. By the way, if you can stretch your dollar to more than, say, 12 inches long ... pass it off to someone you don't know or like very much.

"Elder Berry" you say. "Tells us the secrets of loving ourselves."  Okay - I will.

Here is the crutch of the whole thing. The sub-conscience rejects any thoughts that do not fit it's filter. Butt, if you keep jamming the same thought down in a positive way ... eventually the sc gets bored and goes back to day dreaming and stuff like that. Now, the positive ideas start to slip through and re-program the screen of logic.

How do you do this?

Look your self in the eye in a mirror and repeat over and over ... "I like myself." "I like myself." "I like myself." Do this several hundred times each day. This is especially powerful if done in public washrooms and crowded busses.

Very soon, your sub-conscience decides it has had enough embarrassment and concedes the fact that "You like yourself". BRAVO!!! You have a attained a new level in the bristerhood. Now you can really get to work on developing loud, obnoxious behavior as you love yourself more and more with each new day.
